About Us
Founded by parents who wanted more for their children with special needs, The I CAN Academy is a warm, therapeutic environment where kids ages 5–12 receive individualized academics and integrated therapies—all in a supportive, close-knit community.

Aron Gidalowitz
Aron Gidalowitz brings over seven years of hands-on experience working with individuals with specialized needs to his role as Director of the I CAN Academy.
His leadership is deeply personal—growing up alongside three siblings with specialized needs gave Aron a unique, empathetic perspective. Professionally, he combines evidence-based practices with a compassionate, student-centered approach. His mission is simple yet powerful: to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering space where every child can thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally.

Meet Our Director of Education
Leora Zakaim
Leora Zakaim is a passionate and dedicated special education professional with years of experience supporting children with diverse needs. She has played a key role in developing and implementing innovative curriculum and instructional materials, most recently helping launch a groundbreaking educational program in Chicago by training and mentoring educators to ensure its long-term success.
With a strong foundation in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Leora has worked across a variety of settings—including schools, camps, and home environments—bringing creativity, structure, and compassion to every space she enters. Her diverse experience allows her to design meaningful learning opportunities, foster collaboration among staff, and provide individualized support that meets students where they are.
Above all, Leora is deeply committed to helping every child reach their fullest potential. She believes in empowering both students and teachers to thrive in a nurturing, inclusive environment—where growth is celebrated and every achievement matters.
